Karen Christine Gracyas, 67, of Bartlett, formerly of Forest Park, died suddenly on Jan. 18, 2018. Born on Dec. 9, 1950 in Melrose Park, she was a graduate of Proviso East High School, class of 1969. Karen loved to cook and bake, especially with her kids and grandkids. She loved going to the farmers market and cooking meals for the family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan and was even able to fulfill her dream of kissing the Stanley Cup. She loved The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John and took the high road while enjoying life to its fullest. “You may say she was a dreamer, but she was not the only one.” She is now reunited with her beloved dog, Sheffie. 

Karen Gracyas was the twin sister of Sharon Bergmann (Don) and sister to Wayne Doss (Rilla); the mother of Christine Deer (Jason), Rebecca Busch (Randy), and Lauren Doss-Kuk (Antonio); grandmother of Andrea Deer (Ernie), Robbie Deer (Stephanie), Alissa and Alexandra Deer, Noelle Busch and Todd; great-grandmother of Ernie Jr.; godmother to Amanda Bergmann (Manny); aunt of Pat, John, Kathy, Debbie, Candy, Tracy, Kevin, Antoinette, Dave and Jim Doss. She had many extended family members and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard “Zeke” and Hertha Doss; and her brothers, Gary and Leonard “Corky” Doss. 

Visitation is Friday, Jan. 26 from 3 until 9 p.m. with a prayer service from 7 until 7:30 p.m. at Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave. in Franklin Park.
