All School Picnic

One of Forest Park’s great traditions is renewed at 11 a.m. on May 17 as all the students in all the Forest Park schools, private and public, come for games and food and a break from school. Fun starts at the Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison St. 

Computer and Internet Basics

The Forest Park Public Library is offering a hands-on computer class for beginners to acquire basic skills. Instructors will go over how to turn on a computer, use a mouse, and visit specific web sites. Class starts at 6:30 p.m. on May 17 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Flight Crew Orientation

Ready to have your summer take off? Join staff at the Forest Park Public Library to learn how to become part of its 2018 teen summer volunteer group. Earn community service hours and gain leadership skills. Available for teens age 12 and up. Orientation starts at 4 p.m. on May 18 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Wellness Wednesday 

Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month by learning about aromatherapy, chill jars and more. Available for teens age 12 and up. Lessons start at 4 p.m. on May 23 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Grown Up Game Night

Spend an evening at the Forest Park Public Library with a variety of board and card games. Compete or work together with games like Scrabble, Exploding Kittens and Flash Point. Fun starts at 6:30 p.m. on May 21 at 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up

From May 21 to 26, dispose of all your unwanted household items for free from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Public Works office, 7343 15th St. Items they will take include lightbulbs, tires, TVs and more. Must show proof of Forest Park residency. Call 708-366-4876 for more details. 

4th Annual Germanfest 

Forest Park’s fourth annual Germanfest will be held the weekend of June 8 outside the Altenheim Picnic Grove, 7824 Madison St. Enjoy live music and entertainment, authentic German food and beer, games for kids and booths featuring items by local vendors. New Kitchen Fundraiser

Help raise funds so the Howard Mohr Community Center can upgrade its old kitchen. Enjoy music by the Redmonds, a silent auction and raffles, food, drink and more. Tickets cost $10 at the door.
