Newcity Chicago magazine ventured outside the city’s borders for its annual “Best of Chicago” list this year and has named Amy’s Wine House the “Best Harmonica Hangout.” Over the past five years, Amy’s has held a harmonica night on the third Wednesday of every month, as an ode to Chicago’s great blues, jazz and even classical harmonica players. This appears to be the first time Amy’s has been featured in Newcity Chicago.

“The mood is generous, as any aspiring harmonica player will learn how to suck and blow and grasp the thrill of the trill along with drinking fine wine at prices even a bluesman can afford,” David Witter wrote of Amy’s.

Amy’s Wine House opened in 2016 at 7235 W. Roosevelt Rd. It features Spanish cuisine, fine wines and, of course, live music, including harmonicas.
