An Indiana man found dead of a gunshot wound inside a car on Nov. 13 inflicted the wound himself, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The medical examiner came to that conclusion during an autopsy performed Nov. 14 on the 33-year-old-man, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

The man, a Dyer, Indiana resident, was pronounced dead in a car parked in the lot at the northwest corner of Harlem Avenue and Madison Street at 10:36 a.m. on Nov. 13.

“There’s no shooter out roaming around the neighborhood, but it’s tragic nonetheless,” Police Chief Thomas Aftanas said.
