Walmart stores nationwide, including Forest Park’s location at 1300 Desplaines Ave., have scaled back their store hours in response to the evolving impact of coronavirus.

In a March 14 message from Dacona Smith, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Walmart U.S., it was announced that beginning Sunday, March 15, Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. until further notice. Stores already operating under more reduced hours will keep their current hours.

Smith’s announcement said that the change is being made to “ensure associates are able to stock the products our customers are looking for and to perform cleaning and sanitizing.”

The Forest Park Walmart location was previously open until midnight daily, but will now close at 11 p.m.
