The 1980’s were known for the Domino’s promise, “30 minutes or less,” which would be referenced by the pizza-loving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
By the 90’s the call to “Avoid the Noid,” was a popular slogan but in 1987 two local Forest Parkers, Jennifer Paulin and Stacie McCloud along with their calculus class from Trinity High School were busy with academics.
Their senior class of 1987 created a game called “Tic-Tac-Calc,” that used dominos and a calculus twist on the “Tic-Tac-Toe,” style game-board for a competition sponsored by Domino’s that year.
Trinity students were awarded Illinois best high school entry for originality were awarded a certificate and a plaque and of course, a pizza party after their competition.
Now 33 years later, Forest Park has its very own Domino’s at 7656 Madison. Making a complete circle in life, local Domino’s owner, Greg Fishcer, who grew up here in Forest Park (alumni of St. John’s Elementary school and Proviso East High School) has come back home with his latest delivery franchise. The Forest Park branch does not offer TMNT favorite toppings like peanut butter and jelly or marshmallows, but locals are fine with that.
