For more than 30 years the arrival of August has brought The Taste of Elmwood Park to the food-centric village. The large and lively festival, however, had to be heavily modified in response to statewide COVID-19 event restrictions.

“We still plan to showcase Elmwood Park’s phenomenal restaurant scene,” said Village President Angelo “Skip” Saviano. “While we will have to wait till 2021 for a traditional Taste, we’re going to work within the Governor’s rules to highlight our restaurants and provide our residents with the opportunity to celebrate the great culinary options here.”

Village officials are persevering and are focused on making the most of summer events despite obvious challenges. To replace The Taste of Elmwood Park, leaders have introduced Taste and Tunes to bring attention to local restaurants by offering entertainment from 6-8pm in the public dining area on Restaurant Row located at North Avenue and 74th Court.
