Mandela : Struggle For Freedom

Join the Forest Park Public Library for this virtual tour with the Illinois Holocaust Museum on March 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. The history of apartheid in South Africa is traced, with Nelson Mandela as the central character. With immersive environments, such as a recreation of Mandela’s cell on Robben Island, Mandela promotes human rights with a central message: all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Chicago Food Tour

On March 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., join the Forest Park Public Library for a virtual tour of some of the most iconic restaurants and culinary creations in Chicago, from Lou Malnati’s to Garrett’s Popcorn. Pull up a chair for some Chicago food history and nostalgia with presenter Hillary Marzec, as she takes guests on a virtual tour of classic foods, like deep-dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, and Italian beef.

Mystery Discussion Group

The West Metro chapter of NAMI (National Association on Mental Illness) is offering virtual support for parents and families. Forest Park Shamrock Hunt

Help the Park District of Forest Park turn Forest Park green (or whatever colors you choose) with a good old fashioned Shamrock Hunt! All you have to do is print and color a shamrock.
