Earlier this month, 60 Proviso High School District 209 students were recognized for outstanding achievement in science, technology, engineering and math and received STEM awards.

Math and science teachers nominated students who have shown high achievement in the STEM subjects. The names of nominated students were then submitted to the Society of Women Engineers and the American Association of Physic Teachers for recognition.
