COVID-19 cases continue to climb in Forest Park and suburban Cook County. A total of 1,153 cases have been confirmed in the village since the beginning of the pandemic, with 16 new cases reported last week, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health’s website on Monday, April 12.

The recent percent change, which tracks the increase in the past two weeks over the prior two weeks was up 128 percent as of April 12. Visit ccdphcd.shinyapps.io/covid19 for the most recent numbers.

While COVID-19 cases increase, so does the number of people vaccinated. According to the Centers for Disease Control, as of April 12, 20.5 percent of the population of Illinois had been fully vaccinated, a total of 1,055,775 people.

This number includes over half of Illinoisans over 65 that are now fully vaccinated. More information on COVID-19 vaccination numbers can be found at covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker.

Universal eligibility for all individuals 16 and over began on Monday at all Illinois vaccines sites outside of Chicago.

No COVID-related deaths of Forest Park residents have been reported since early February.
