Grow a Pollinator Garden
Join the Forest Park Public Library and Conservation@Home on July 17 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for a presentation on pollinator gardens. Plant a “pocket” of flowers that attract and nurture pollinators in your own yard. Learn more about various blooming plants for all seasons, the pollinators needed for survival and their larger role in our eco-system. Led by Illinois Extension Master Gardener Barb Harris and Master Naturalist Navraaz Basati. A Cook County Conservation@Home Presentation. Pollinator garden starter kits are available at the library while supplies last. The program will take place over Zoom. Author Discussion and Signing with Robert Goldsborough
Robert Goldsborough will be discussing and signing copies of his book “Trouble at the Brownstone” at Centuries & Sleuths, 7419 Madison St., on July 18 at 2 p.m. The book stars Archie Goodwin, assistant to a legendary private detective, who goes undercover. Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Movie at the Park
Join the Park District of Forest Park on Friday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m. for a free ice cream social, followed by the movie “Trolls: World Tour,” beginning at dusk. Ice cream will be available on a first come, first served basis. 7501 Harrison St.
Forest Park Annual Garden Walk
Join the Historical Society of Forest Park on Saturday, July 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as beautiful outdoor spaces and gardens of Forest Park are showcased. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 day of the event.
All tickets purchased will be picked up at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St., on the day of the event. Your ticket will also enroll you in free giveaways and prizes. Safety protocols and social distancing will be followed for the event.
