It was in September 2001 that McAdam Landscaping announced the company was moving from the northeast side of Forest Park to the southwest side.
The familiar brown and tan trucks had been parked at 7313 Franklin St. when the bourgeoning business outgrew the cramped quarters. The Franklin Street property was in a TIF District the land would eventually be converted into townhomes in 2004.
McAdam was on the verge of expanding their operations, which would include a retail greenhouse, and the company leaders looked forward to having less residential congestion at the south side location at 2001 Desplaines Ave., where the McAdam headquarters and those brown and tan trucks remain today.
