Beautiful outdoor spaces and gardens of Forest Park are showcased. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of the event. Guidebooks are picked up the day of at Centuries and Sleuths, 7419 Madison St., Forest Park.

Author Discussion & Signing With Joseph Baar Topinka

Joseph Baar Topinka will be discussing his book Just Judy, about his mother, Judy Baar Topinka. Her illustrious career in Illinois politics was a groundbreaker in terms of redefining gender roles and rising to the top of her profession. 7419 Madison St., Forest Park.

Day in the Park

Sunday, July 16, 2 – 6 p.m., Miller Meadow

Double dutch, corn hole, connect four, jenga and other games will be played right there in the park, on a day where imagination meets the inner child face to face. If it’s a particular game you like to play, feel free to bring it. 2175 S. 1st Ave., Forest Park.

Free Summer Concert Series with The Flat Cats

Wacky Quacky Duck Races

Wednesday, July 19, 6:30 – 9 p.m., Forest Park Aquatic Center

Rubber ducks race down the water slide for chances to win prizes. The grand prize is $250, the second prize is $100, and Wacky Quacky Ducks will be sold for $2 each. Visit to adopt your duck. Hosted by Wssra, funds  raised through this event help programs for individuals with special needs. Winners need not be present. 7501 Harrison St., Forest Park.
