Chicago Bears Tom Bettis and Bill George attended the Kiwanis Club meeting in 1963, the night the Kiwanis Youth Football team received their awards. Bettis, who was a lineman for the Packers and Steelers before coming back to his hometown of Chicago to play for the Bears, would go on to coach for 30 years, including the 1969-70 Super Bowl IV Championship team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Bears lineman Bill George was a middle guard on the line in the five-man defense and was a ferocious leader on the field. He was named All-NFL eight times, elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1974 and his number, 61, was retired by the Bears, who won the NFL Championship in 1963.
