An employee returned April 19 to Nob’s Towing at 1510 Hannah Ave. and noticed another employee’s vehicle parked inappropriately, according to the police report. Police said that the man started arguing with the other employee by threatening to “put a bullet” in their head, and a third employee stepped in. The group has ongoing issues at work, according to the police report, and the man hit the employee who interjected in the back of the head. Police reported that the man was fired and arrested for battery.  

Missing boy 

At the Des Plaines station of the Blue Line April 15, CTA security informed police of a juvenile riding the train alone. The child told officers he is 12 years old, according to the police report. A police officer called the child’s father, who confirmed the boy was missing from his Dolton home for more than two days. The father picked up the boy from the Forest Park Police Department.  

Battery  

  • On April 19, police were dispatched to Roosevelt Road and Des Plaines Avenue because a man pushed a woman out of a car at the intersection. The man told police that the woman was intoxicated and attempting to exit the car on the expressway, so he got off the expressway, and the woman again tried to leave the car while it was moving. The woman said she didn’t want an ambulance and signed a complaint refusal form on the scene, although officers told the man he could be arrested for domestic battery later if the woman changes her mind and signs a complaint against him.  
  • Police were dispatched to Oak Park Hospital April 20 for a delayed report of domestic battery. The woman in the hospital reported that, while on a Pace Bus on the 100 block of Harlem Avenue, she and her boyfriend of one month got into an argument when he found out she was selling nude photos of herself online, according to the police report. The boyfriend hit her in the face, knocking her unconscious. She is unsure how many times he hit her and came to on the street, stumbling around with a bloody face, according to the police report. The woman called her sister, who took her to the hospital. The woman didn’t sign complaints against her boyfriend. A nurse at Oak Park Hospital reported that the woman had left orbital floor and posterior wall fractures, and recommended facial reconstruction surgery.  

Unlawful use of weapon 

While on patrol April 21, police noticed a car speeding at 50 miles per hour and pulled it over at the intersection of Circle Avenue and Roosevelt Road. The car smelled of cannabis, according to the police report. Police asked the driver and two passengers to exit the car, where they found suspect cannabis and THC vapes, plus a handgun, bullets and spent casings. The driver said he borrowed the car from a friend and didn’t know the firearm was in it. At the police station, the front passenger said the firearm, ammunition and cannabis was his. The rear passenger, who is a juvenile, was released to his mother. The driver was arrested for speeding and the front passenger was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, lack of a firearm identification card, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle outside its container, and contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor.  


These items were obtained from Forest Park Police Department reports dated April 15 through April 21 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed physical description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
