Last summer, protests erupted across the country as people marched against what critics see as President Donald Trump’s authoritarian regime.

The first nationwide No Kings protest of this year will take place on March 28. In Forest Park, protestors will gather on the sidewalk at 7500 Roosevelt Rd. from 10 a.m. to noon.

Last year, protests fell on June 14, Trump’s birthday and Flag Day, which commemorates the day in 1777 when the American flag was adopted. In Forest Park, nearly 200 people packed Constitution Court

In October, even more Americans hit the streets for another No Kings protestHundreds lined Roosevelt Road in Forest Park to once again speak out against the Trump administration and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deportation efforts across Chicagoland that started last year.

“Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger,” says the No Kings website. “‘No Kings’ is more than just a slogan; it is the foundation our nation was built upon. … Because this country does not belong to kings, dictators, or tyrants. It belongs to We the People.”
