Police were dispatched to the 7300 block of Madison Street around 5 p.m. on Aug. 16 after a man patronizing Robert’s Westside saw a man and woman physically arguing on the balcony across the street. According to the man, he saw a man slap a woman and push her to the ground. Police made contact with the couple and reported that the woman’s face was red where she was likely hit. She told police they were drinking together when the man started talking on the phone with another woman, and they began arguing. The woman said she didn’t want to sign complaints and was given a pamphlet for domestic violence victims’ rights, but because of the independent eyewitness accounts, the police department signed complaints against the man for domestic battery.
