Barbara J. Sullivan, 90, a longtime resident of Forest Park, died on July 17, 2026, in Palm Desert, California. Born on Aug. 6, 1935 in Elmhurst, she lived in Forest Park from childhood until 2018 when she moved to Borrego Springs, California.
She worked hard to do well and do right.
Now she is done doing and free.
Now it’s her time to BE, to twirl in the light, to believe in the sun and stars, and to merge with the ONE she never left.
We thank her for launching us into this life, her generosity throughout, and for being the right Mom for us.
Two days later, she visited in the air’s heated stillness and the cicadas’ nostalgic chorus.
Now it’s time for her launch. Mom, you did an excellent job.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Sullivan, a former Forest Park Review columnist. She enabled Bob to be Bob, an important job.
She is survived by her daughters, Jill Sullivan (Gregory Schorer) and Cara Sullivan.
