If you’re still shaken by the ICE agent who was granted access to Village Hall at the end of July, you’re not alone. Nearly 200 locals, mostly Forest Park residents, have signed a petition requesting ICE-free zones in the village and an update to its welcoming resolution.
Mayor Rory Hoskins and commissioners seem receptive to the petition’s requests — so long as Forest Park’s non-home-rule designation doesn’t get in the way of creating a new ordinance or resolution restricting where ICE agents can visit.
