Hello Forest Park Review readers! We just kicked off our year-end fundraising campaign and we need your support.

We’re growing, and your support is helping make it possible.

Over the past year, our small but mighty newsroom has grown, and it’s thanks to readers like you who are willing to step up and contribute to our work. We’re reaching more readers and investing in more local reporting at a time when communities across the country are losing theirs.

But we still need your help. Even with this momentum, reader contributions remain essential to covering Forest Park, holding local institutions accountable, and telling the stories that matter to our community.

Will you help us keep growing with a year-end gift?

Happy day after Election Day!

Conbtributing to the massive blue wave that swept across the country last night, yesterday, I attended La Shawn Ford’s celebration party. It was about an hour after polls closed when hundreds of attendees cheered as Ford was announced the next congressman of the 7th district. Stay tuned in the coming days as I plan to interview Ford about the national scale of Democratic wins and how they might affect his first congressional term.

In other news, the Review’s front-page story this week is an update on the investigation into Lt. Dan Miller. The investigation will wrap in the coming weeks, after the Forest Park police officer forcibly detained a woman in April who was later released without charges.

I read through 79 pages of correspondence between village officials and Gold Shield Detective Agency, which was hired to lead the investigation. Read on to find out what exactly the investigation has entailed over the last five months.
