Sympathy to Terry Steinbach and her family. Andy Steinbach, husband of Joan, father of Terry and Larry died last week. Joan and Andy have been living in Oak Park for a few years, but before that they were longtime Forest Parkers.

Mayor Calderone and his wife Lois live next door to Terry Steinbach, as most of you know. Just a few days after Andy Steinback died, Lois’s father, Angelo Fosco died. Sad coincidence … sympathy to the family of Angelo Fosco.

Brogie the lovable exuberant black lab mix from the 500 block of Thomas got out Sunday Feb. 6th and hasn’t been seen since. Brogie didn’t have his dog tag, he never had a microchip, he wasn’t even wearing a collar. But his best friend, Mac sits alone in the yard looking miserable. We all love Brogie, please try to help us find this irreplaceable dog. Call the Forest Park police, I don’t want to put the owner’s phone number in the paper. But call 366-4685 if you don’t call the police. Brogie is big and noisy, but harmless, a real love.

On Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. Scott Gaalaas of the Oak Park (a.k.a. West Suburban) YMCA will talk to us at the Forest Park Library. He’ll update us on the proposed changes and improvements at the Y and the possibility of moving the Y to Forest Park. It’s an issue of interest to all Forest Parkers, Y members or not. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Austin Meeting Room.

Apologies and belated happy birthday wishes to Marge Zwadlo on her January 17th birthday.

Start bundling up your unwanted books. The library book sale will be held May 13,14 and 15. This year movies for all to enjoy will be shown at the library on March 20th and April 24th. If you have some suggestions for Roger, he’d really welcome them. The last movie was a big hit; movie lovers of all ages came and enjoyed the popcorn as much as they enjoyed the movie.

Not only was Circle theatre on channel 11 again, their latest show was reviewed very favorably by Hedy Weiss. Freddie’s Pizza, Italian risorante extraordinaire’s Anna Marie Tricoci Quercia and her husband Freddie, got rave reviews for their cuisine, with special raves from every one of the critic/eaters for the wonderful gelato! Freddie’s is on 16th Street in Cicero. Freddie’s isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an old fashioned Italian deli. Try it, they guarantee you’ll like it.

Sympathy to our Fireman, Don Chevel, on the death of his father last week.
