Eighty percent of Forest Parkers who voted in the presidential election chose Barack Obama and Joseph Biden over 18 percent who voted for Republican challengers Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in the Nov. 6 national election.

Of the total 6,514 votes cast by Forest Parkers in the presidential election, 5,239 went to Obama/Biden, while 1,165 were cast for Romney/Ryan. Two percent, or 105 votes, went to the Green and Libertarian parties, according to the County Clerk’s website.

Of 8,537 registered voters in Forest Park, 76.3 percent voted in the presidential election. Voter turnout for suburban Cook County overall was 69 percent.
