I thought Santa’s long white beard being spun from a spinning wheel at Knit Nirvana was especially clever. The Gasse music students and Team Blonde’s harmonica /elf dancer were eye-catching. Did you get to hear the hearty carols of the Oak Leyden Singers at Guillen’s photography shop? Those young people gave everyone the Christmas spirit.

Rich Schauer (aka Dr. Who) and his assistants, Loretta and Corinna Jantz join in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Let us also give a nod to those very talented madrigal singers at Centuries & Sleuths and the Harlem Mannerchor singers.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Gary DeCosola. The DeCosola family has been going through very rough times lately. Your neighbors and friends sincerely hope 2013 will be kinder to this much-loved family.

In the spirit of the season, the Kiwanis Club donated $1,000 to the Forest Park Food Pantry. Consider joining the Kiwanis: nice people, meetings are fun and you’ll be a part of their generosity.
