A 28-year-old man from Forest Park was fatally shot early Monday morning at a BP station in the 5200 block of Jackson Boulevard. Gregory Bady, 28, and a female passenger, 22, were involved in an argument around 4 a.m. at a gas station at Madison and Lavergne, said Officer Robert Perez of the Chicago Police Department News and Affairs Office. According to the female witness, the pair then traveled to a BP station at Jackson and Laramie, where the woman said shots were fired by an unknown person from an unknown direction, hitting Bady in the shoulder.

The woman told police Bady tried to drive himself to a hospital, reaching the on-ramp of the Eisenhower Expressway at the 600 block of Kostner and then losing consciousness. He was declared dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital around 5 a.m.

State police closed a lane of the inbound expressway for about an hour in the early morning as they investigated the crime scene.
