The fifth annual Forest Park Juneteenth was a splashing success June 22. More than 560 people came to the Forest Park pool and enjoyed turkey hot dogs, chips and watermelon, plus a raffle and giveaways.

The Juneteenth Committee and the Forest Park Kiwanis would like to thank the following businesses for generously sponsoring the 5th Annual Juneteenth: Forest Park National Bank, Ferrara Pan Candy Company, Mohr Oil, Currie Motors, Consolidated Auto Service Center, Ultra Foods, Walgreens, MB Financial, Forest Park Review, and Oak Park Regional Housing Center.

We would especially like to thank our sustaining sponsors: Park District of Forest Park and Leonard Creativeworks, LLC.

Valued raffle items were donated by Healy’s Westside, Piggy Back Tavern, and Mom’s Concierge, as well as by the Office of Cook County Commissioner Earlene Collins.

Finally we wish to thank the volunteers that made the event successful, and the Park District employees who helped in so many ways, to Commissioners Mannix, Hosty, and Harris, and to District 91 board member Raphael Rosa and Forest Park Middle School Assistant Principal Joe Pisano.
