I just wanted to extend a sincere ‘thank you’ to all who made our fourth annual fundraiser for Wounded Warrior Project last month such a huge success. The community as a whole, businesses and residents, really step up in sponsoring and assisting these true heroes who have been severely injured in battle protecting our freedom.

A big thank you to Larry Piekarz and the Park District Board who offered us a warm home, again, and the great park staff who really cross every ‘T’ and dot every ‘I’. A big thanks to Chalk for offering the thirsty park goers refreshments and Flavor 180 who had great gourmet fare available. Sponsorships from area business really add to the event and that list is ever growing and much appreciated. These area businesses deserve a round of applause: Consolidated Auto, Fat Duck Tavern, Shortstop Lounge, McGaffer’s Saloon, ‘R Place, Mohr Oil, Ferrara Pan Candy, Currie Motors, Midwest Skylite and the biggest supporter VFW Post 7181. Quartermaster Tim Hogan and our local VFW have been a huge part of making this a success every year, we can’t do it without them.

There are also a few individuals who selflessly give their valuable time and treasure and need to be acknowledged. Karen Dylewski who has a spirit of giving that is unequaled. Other individuals who step up volunteering their time or treasure and need a big thank you are Marty Tellalian, Matt O’Shea and Tracy Timberlake we can’t do it without you!
