Exciting News for Forest Park! Santa Claus has officially moved his toy store to Madison Street at Harrison Toys, just west of Beloit. Be sure to stop off there on your Christmas shopping adventures. It’s the most exciting new store on the Street.

The happy faces shown here are party goers, Mary Bennett, Cindy Czosnyka and Irene Kaldis all of Always in Style, where Irene had a joyful, Christmas celebration last Sunday. Irene taught everyone how to say “Merry Christmas” in Greek, “Kala Kristugena.” You don’t have to learn Greek to ask for Greek pastry, but just in case, you’ll want to say kourambiedes. They’re the round or crescent shaped almond cookies that everyone seems to love. Then you can learn koulovrla a less sweet butter cookie more log-shaped. Of course there is always baklava! Everyone’s favorite. Unfortunately, there weren’t any tall, handsome Greek men there to give the ladies a dance lesson. You’ll probably have to go to a Greek wedding for that. By the way, Irene buys her wonderful pastries from Greek nuns, Sisters of St. John Chrysostomos, at the Greek Orthodox Monastery.

Wednesday Journal and publisher Dan Haley threw a gala Christmas party at Skrine Chops last week. It’s always a happy occasion when we get to actually SEE some of the people we just read each week. Three of our most popular writers seen here at the Review are Editor Jean Lotus, Rev. Tom Holmes and half of John Rice’s head. They seem to be saying “Merry Christmas” to you.

A speedy recovery to Carl Grapentine of station WFMT who slipped on the ice last Sunday, tore a ligament in his knee thereby missing Beethoven’s Dec. 16 birthday.
