Cub Scout Pack 109 set sail this past Saturday with its first Raingutter Regatta at St. John’s Community Garden. Boys from 1st-5th grade raced their own miniature sailboats that they built and decorated. Cub Scouts could either blow directly on the sail or use a straw to blow the sail to get to the end of the track first. Webelos scout, Toby Maxham, secured first place followed by Bear Scout Kevin Winnicki in second and Webelos Scout Ian O’Connor in third. Other awards included: Most Scout Pride: Ben Edsell; Most Colorful: Bora Demirtas; Most Realistic: Logan Wagner; Most Radical: Toby Maxham and Captain’s Choice: Toby Maxham. Judging and race competition was managed by Boy Scout Troop 109.
Thank you to St. John for sharing their space with our Pack and Troop for this event and for all the support they gave to make it such a success. We are very grateful to Boy Scout Troop 107 who ran our first Raingutter Regatta and handled challenges with ease. We were so impressed by your leadership skills. Thank you to all the Pack families and scouts who together share their time and talents which bring a great experience for our neighborhood.
