Heartfelt sympathy to Dawn Solis (Ed’sWay). What could be more tragic than losing a child? Dawn’s 26-year-old son, Martin, died last week and left heartbroken family and friends. What can be said?
Sympathy also to the family and friends of Chris Thornton who also left us last week. These beautiful sunny days are in such contrast to what’s in our hearts at such a time. It’s almost better for the soul when these tragedies occur on rainy, cloudy days. Sympathy to Chris’ family and friends.
Sue Bothie has happier news. She just returned from a month-long Florida vacation where she saw many of her friends. Among her friends are Rich and Lou Cirrintano, who are still operating their restaurant. Rich and Lou read the Review and send greetings to all their old Forest Park friends. Sue loves retirement but misses her many friends in the village. To fill the gap, she’ll soon begin working for the Chicago Cubs. Sue should get over to Doc Ryan’s and talk to Jonny Veremis. Jonny spent many years with the Cubs.
Forest Park is fast becoming a cosmopolitan village. The Junction gave us Margarita from Novosibirsk, the third largest city in Russia. A young man from Morocco greeted us on Washington Street today. And over at First Nails we have Sarah from Mongolia.
Have you tried the Wings yet? That’s Wing Stop on Harlem & Roosevelt. Best wings anywhere.

Mr. Goldsborough has continued the Rex Stout series with great success and has dedicated many of his works to the memory of Rex Stout. For a good read, visit Centuries & Sleuths any day of the week except Monday.
