Youngsters crowded at St. B’s on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for some warmer skating in the cold months.
Energetic youngsters in February, 1955 braved the elements to skate at the flooded tennis courts at Harrison and Hannah.
In the winter of 1955, Forest Park children could be found ice skating at the flooded tennis courts at the Park District or at the flooded basketball court at 16th/Circle. For warmer rounds of skating, St. Bernardine’s hosted roller skating in the parish hall on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
