The Cook County Sheriff’s department responded to a dispute about where campaigning can occur at about 7:30 a.m. this morning at Betsy Ross Elementary School, 1315 Marengo Ave.
“My understanding is that it was a dispute regarding where the line was set and we were called to assist in resolving it. We remeasured, resolved and we haven’t had any further complaints with that,” said Sophia Ansari, press secretary for the sheriff’s office.
Ansari declined to name any of the candidates involved in the dispute. She said the incident was resolved after about 45-minutes.
Scott Dunnell, communications lead for Forest Park District 91 schools, said that all students and staff were fine.
“District 91 has nothing to do with the election, all they do is provide the space for the polling,” Dunnell said.
