During a special meeting held on April 30, the two new and one incumbent elected to the Forest Park District 91 Board of Education were sworn into office.
Shannon Wood was elected for her first four-year term—she had served two years previously—and voted in as board secretary. New members Monique Cotton Yancy and Katherine Valleau were also sworn into office.
The board voted for Kyra Tyler to serve as board president, after Tyler served nearly three months as vice president of the board. She replaces Kim Rostello in the role, who will now serve as vice president of the board.
D91’s board was recently reorganized in February, after longtime head Mary Win Connor immediately resigned from the post due to health issues.
Mary Win Connor and her husband, Eric Connor, continue to serve on the board.
