Food Pantry Fundraiser
Twisted Cookie is partnering with Forest Park firefighters to raise food and money for the Forest Park Food Pantry. Firefighters will be whipping up milkshakes and serving hot chocolate and tasty treats. A fire truck will be parked outside for kids. Non-perishable donations for the food pantry will be collected, and 20% of all sales go directly to the pantry. Nov. 16 from 12 to 4 p.m. at 7401 Madison St.
Craft Fair and Holiday Market
Come on out to the Park District of Forest Park’s Candy Cane Lane Craft Fair and Holiday Market on Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roos Recreation Center. This event is free to the public and is a great opportunity to get started on your holiday shopping.
Engage Café with D91 Board of Education
Join the D91 board for casual conversation about what’s happing at Forest Park schools. Free pizza and refreshments will be served, and childcare will be provided by National Junior Honor Society students. This event is free and open to the entire Forest Park community. Nov. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison St.
District 91 Board of Education Meeting
Attend the monthly meeting of D91’s school board. Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at 424 Desplaines.
Clue on Stage – High School Edition
Seven suspects, six weapons, five bodies. One ending. Experience Proviso East Pirates’ Theater Troupe performance of Clue on Stage at the Proviso East Auditorium (1st and Madison Street in Maywood – enter at Door #5). Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m. General admission is $5. Students with ID are $3. Senior citizens are $2, and children 12 and under are free.
Forest Park Recycling Forum
Join Forest Park commissioners on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd. Talk to representatives from Republic Services and learn about changes in the recycling industry and how to move toward zero waste. Activities for kids will be provided.
Irving Newman Art Exhibit
The opening of Newman’s art exhibit, which will run through December, will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Studio 8, 7316 Madison. At the first showing of Newman’s work in over 50 years, guests can enjoy his mid-century geometric art, created in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
