A brick was thrown through the front living room window of a home on the 8200 block of Roosevelt Road, Nov. 22 around 6:45 p.m. The victim saw the offender running west on Roosevelt Road toward First Avenue, but police were unable to find the assailant, who was described as a black male wearing black “khakis” and a black hoodie. The brick was wrapped in a piece of paper with writing on it, but the police report did not indicate what was written on that paper.
Red Ford tricks officer
The driver of a 2013 red four-door Ford sedan eluded police on Nov. 21 just after midnight. The officer observed the car, with window tints in obvious violation of law, and an expired registration. When the officer pursued the car, he activated his emergency lights, and the red car continued onto I-290, where it pulled over onto the right shoulder. When the officer pulled over behind the car and got out of his vehicle, the red car sped away. The registered owner of the car currently has four suspensions of his Illinois Driver’s License, according to the police report.
Black Jeep flees police
A black Jeep Cherokee with a “not issued” temporary registration plate fled from police on Nov. 23 at 10:24 p.m. The driver, upon seeing the police officer, quickly got into the car and drove from the parking lot of the Thornton’s gas station at 500 Harlem Ave., heading north on Harlem Avenue. The officer pulled his squad car behind the vehicle and activated the emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued on. The Jeep turned east onto Madison Street and accelerated “at a high rate of speed” away from the police car, running through a red light in Oak Park, where Oak Park Police Department units reported seeing the vehicle driving “extremely recklessly” on Madison before turning onto Austin Boulevard and entering the I-290 expressway.
Man violates parole with cognac
A man on parole for aggravated robbery using a fake handgun was pulled over on Nov. 23 at 11:36 p.m. A magazine for a Smith & Wesson handgun with live ammunition and an open container of Martel cognac were found in his car. The driver, who was stopped for speeding, did not have any photo identification on him. At the police station, he refused to speak. He was issued citations for failing to signal before a turn and transporting open alcohol. A parole violation warrant is being issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections.
These items were obtained from police reports filed by the Forest Park Police Department, Nov. 18-24, and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Unless otherwise indicated, anybody named in these reports has only been charged with a crime. These cases have not been adjudicated.
