This Thursday, Jan. 9 at a special meeting, the District 209 school board will take the first step toward continuing the transformative work that has been taking place at Proviso High Schools over the past 4½ years. At this meeting, the D209 Board of Education will interview executive search firms and select the one best fit to secure the best qualified superintendent candidates for our consideration.

Once selected, the firm will assist the board throughout what should be a very exciting and galvanizing process of community engagement wherein all stakeholder groups are given the opportunity to voice their opinions and collectively create a profile of the optimal superintendent.

So much tremendous work has been accomplished under the leadership of the D209 board and current Superintendent Jesse Rodriguez, yet so much work lies ahead. This is truly an exciting time as hiring a superintendent is the most important decision a board of education makes and we are committed to working transparently, collaboratively, and professionally to find the superintendent best suited to continue materializing the vision, mission, and goals of this Board of Education with the ultimate focus always and forever being to provide “Nothing But The Best” public education for our communities’ children.

Ned Wagner

President, Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board of Education
