Join the League of Women Voters for another Drinks and Dialogue presentation, featuring local artist Guillermo Delgado. Delgado will share his journey teaching poetry, art and yoga to incarcerated men and youth. Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Francesca’s Fiore, 7407 Madison St.
Friday Movie Night for Kids
Friday, Feb. 21 from 6:15 to 8 p.m. at Building 4 of the Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison St. Kids from Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to a drop-off event at the Park District of Forest Park. The children will be kept entertained with a pizza or hot dog dinner, movie and popcorn. This will be held from 6:15pm-8:00pm. $5 per child. Pre-register at pdofp.org or pay at the door.
Black History Month Storytime
Saturday, Feb. 22 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Join us for a special Black History Month storytime event all about empowerment and the celebration of identity, with special appearances from notable guests from the community. Our guest star readers include Maui Jones from Echo Theater Collective, professional cosplayer Christopher English (of PapaBear Cosplay, making a special character appearance) and local artist and photographer Torey Earl. Stay after the storytime to make customized superhero capes and pose for a family photo op with our guest superhero.
Senior Exercise
The Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd., is holding senior exercise classes on Friday, Feb. 21 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. and on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. Call the Community Center at 708-771-7737 with questions.
Hip-hop Infused Yoga
for Teens
Teens are invited to the Forest Park Public Library on Friday, Feb. 21 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the young adult lounge room at 7555 Jackson Blvd. for some hip-hop infused yoga. Bring your own mat or borrow one of ours.
Faux Pas Comedy Show
You won’t just laugh. You’ll raise money for the Forest Park Arts Alliance at their first 2020 Faux Pas comedy show. Continuing the series from last year, the show will be hosted by Brandon Prosek and will feature comedians Sohrab Forouzesh, Chelsea Hood, Med Indurti, Chris Higgins and Kenyon Adamcik. Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. at Doc Ryan’s, 7432 Madison. Tickets are $15, and 100 percent goes to the Forest Park Arts Alliance for a large-scale, professionally produced mural in Forest Park.
