Forest Park Middle School Principal Joseph Pisano is leaving District 91, resigning after his contract ends on June 30, 2020.

Pisano will take on a new position as principal of Evergreen Elementary in the Benjamin School District in Carol Stream, much closer to his home than his current Forest Park post.

Pisano said practically all his teaching career has been at D91, where he student-taught before becoming a full-time middle school social studies teacher in 2008. In 2012 he became assistant principal at the middle school, then was promoted to principal in 2015.

Pisano said that although he is excited to be working closer to home with his new position, he is sad to be leaving D91.

“District 91 has presented me with so many opportunities and the honor of teaching students and being part of the community here,” said Pisano. “I’m going to really, really miss it. I couldn’t be more thankful for the teachers and students and entire district and town.”

He said he will be part of the transition for the new principal, going through the day-to-day routine and larger responsibilities with whomever takes over for next school year.

D91’s middle school assistant principal Tinisa Huff was promoted to the position of principal at Betsy Ross, beginning in the 2020/2021 school year.

According to D91’s website, Joseph Pisano received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a social science endorsement from Dominican University. He completed his graduate program at Concordia University and received a master’s degree in educational leadership.
