Socially Distant Sing Along

 

Forest Parkers are participating in #chicagosingalong, a city-wide social distant singing experience. The next event is Saturday, March 28, from 7 to 7:05 p.m. and the song is “ABC” from The Jackson 5. Pull up the lyrics (if you need them) at azlyrics.com/lyrics/jackson5/abc.html. Start singing at exactly 7 p.m., on your front porch, inside with your windows open, or in private if you choose. Free Lunches for D91 Students 

During spring break, March 23 through March 27, D91 students can receive lunch at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd, from 11 a.m. to noon. Beginning March 30, lunches will once more be available at Garfield Elementary School, 543 Hannah Ave., for students on the north side of town. On the south side, students can stop by the Forest Park Middle School’s gymnasium vestibule on the Ferdinand Avenue side of the building. Both schools are serving lunch between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Temporary library card available

The Forest Park Public Library is closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a library card or renew your old library card online and access ebooks, audiobooks and more. Forest Park residents of any age are eligible with a valid email address. The card will expire on July 4. For more information, visit:

Neighborhood art projects

Forest Park residents are participating in a few art neighborhood-wide art projects. Two of them are the window-walk, in which participants hang themed art in their front windows for others to see on socially distant and safe walks around town. Easter Egg Decorating Contest 

The Park District of Forest Park is holding an online Easter egg decorating contest. Participants are invited to print the blank egg and decorate it in whatever style you like. Digital designs are encouraged as well! Submit finished entries into a drawying for a delicious Easter-themed prize.
