The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) will be conducting free COVID-19 tests at Ferrara, 7301 Harrison St., in Forest Park on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the media release, the site will be open to Ferrara employees, their families, and members of the Forest Park community of all ages.

Appointments are not required for walk-up testing, and 500 tests will be conducted.

The testing at this site will involve an “anterior nares” swab. According to the IDPH website, “This swab is a smaller, less invasive swab and only requires swabbing no more than two inches into the nostril.”

Results will be available within four to seven days via a phone call at the number you provide at the testing site.

You do not need to be sick or exhibiting symptoms to be tested.

If you have insurance, you are asked to bring your card, but it is not required, and there is no charge for testing.

“We firmly believe in supporting the communities where we live and work in ways that make meaningful impact,” said Mike Murray, chief operating officer of Ferrara, in the media release. “In this moment, that means leveraging Ferrara’s footprint in partnership with state and local officials to provide testing for our team members and neighbors.”
