Two students in elementary school District 91 have tested positive for COVID-19, according to information from the district sent to families on April 22. One is a student at Garfield School and the other at Forest Park Middle School.
Additional correspondence has been sent to parents of students in the affected classrooms through a notification from the school health coordinator, according to the district.
D91 is taking steps to prevent further spread of the virus. These steps include identifying, notifying, and quarantining, for 14 days, anyone who was within six feet of the infected individuals for 15 minutes or longer.
The schools will monitor students and staff for signs of COVID-19, and areas of potential exposure to the virus will be deep-cleaned and disinfected.
