The former tenant at a commercial building in the 7500 block of Madison Street allegedly acted out after being evicted and stole 12 light fixtures, two church pews and a security camera system.
Forest Park police did not provide an exact address but reported that the former tenant was informed they would be evicted July 15, with a requirement that they vacate no later than Sept. 29. The building’s owner said the tenant was “not happy about the notice and started causing problems.”
The owners called police on Nov. 2 and reported the thefts, along with what they believed was intentional damage to the walls, floors and stairs. The owners added that the former tenants have been “harassing” them with legal communication and “demanding reimbursement” for the financial losses incurred.
