A man called police after discovering what he believed was a loaded AK47-style rifle and two loaded handguns in a yard waste container in the backyard of a property in the 600 block of Marengo Avenue.

Police were dispatched to the location around 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 22 and pulled a black rifle case, a Draco brand AK47 pistol, and two Glock handguns, all three of which were loaded with a total of more than 50 rounds.

One of the handguns had allegedly been altered to allow it to fire as a fully automatic weapon. The second handgun had previously been reported stolen in Mississippi. A black AK47 rifle magazine was also located near the yard waste container.

This information was obtained from police reports filed by the Forest Park Police Department. Unless otherwise indicated, anybody named in these reports has only been charged with a crime. These cases have not been adjudicated.
