A man with a license to carry a concealed weapon told police he only grabbed his gun because another man pulled a gun on him first during a road rage incident on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

The incident began a little after 10 p.m. when a driver exited Interstate 290 and started driving southbound on Harlem Avenue. A second driver, in a black Chevrolet Malibu, was apparently “driving slowly” next to the first driver on Harlem and would not let him pass.

When the two vehicles reached the intersection of Harlem and Roosevelt Road, and the first vehicle started to make a right turn, the driver of the Malibu allegedly cut the first driver off, flipped him the bird, and rolled down his window to show a silver handgun.

At that point, the first driver said he grabbed his own gun and showed it, before the Malibu sped away on Harlem.

No arrests were made.
