At least two organizations are offering free COVID-19 testing in Forest Park with no appointment or insurance necessary.
Northshore Clinical has two open locations, one at 321A S. Harlem Ave. and another at the former CVS Pharmacy, 7216 Circle Ave. Those clinics offer rapid tests and the more reliable PCR tests, which take up to several days to return results and are in short supply across the country. Northshore’s locations are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Another free clinic has been set up at 1527 S. Harlem Ave. and is operated by the Center for COVID Control, which also offers rapid and PCR testing, albeit the latter on a somewhat limited basis. That facility is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Center for COVID Control clinic recommends calling ahead at 224-269-2397 to confirm PCR tests are available.
