Former Forest Park resident
David Thomas Nutley, 63 of Charleston, South Carolina, formerly from Forest Park, died peacefully on Aug. 22, 2022. Born on July 29, 1959, he worked at Bosch for 42 years, at the Broadview location for over 30 years, then transferred to South Carolina in 2010. He fell in love with Charleston. He found Rita’s on Folly Beach, where he spent a lot of time having either lunch or dinner and a cold Bud Light. He made so many friends at Rita’s, he called them his Folly family. He would walk the beach every weekend searching for shark teeth, driftwood and shells. He especially loved sitting on the beach watching the sunrise and driving his dream car Corvette along the beautiful Carolina coastline.
David was the husband of Sandy Nutley; the father of Megan (Kevin) Rose, Angela (Ryan) Corliss, and Kevin (Caitlin) Nutley; the grandfather of Maeve Nutley and Nick Corliss; the son of Edward Nutley and the late Sarah Nutley; the brother of Michael (Kim), JoAnne (Clint) and the late (John), Karen (Dana), and Edward Jr. (Bridget); and the uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.
A visitation was held on August 30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Road in Forest Park. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Aug. 31 at St. Bernardine Church, followed by a graveside burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside.
