Trunk or Treat!

This totally free, safe trick-or-treat event takes place in the back parking lot of the Roos Recreation Center and requires no registration. Senior & Veteran Resource Fair

Saturday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Proviso Mathematics & Science Academy
Emanuel “Chris” Welch, 7th District State Representative, hosts this visit with health providers for special screenings and resources for seniors and veterans. From noon to 2 p.m., there will be lunch, bingo and prizes. COVID vaccinations and flu shots will be available. 8601 W. Roosevelt Road, Forest Park.

Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore is entering its last few months of being open, because Augie Alesky is retiring on Dec. 31. However, there are countless events for everyone to enjoy until the bookstore closes. Kathleen Anne Fleming will be at the bookstore for a book discussion and signing of A Menacing Luster: Chicago 1927, the end of the Jazz Age and the beginning of the Art of Luminous Watch-Face Painting. 7419 W. Dia de Muertos Market and Sugar Skull Workshop

For the second year in a row, I’ll be hosting one of our favorite workshops, Sugar Skull Decorating, for children ages 3-14 years. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to sign-up as soon as possible. We will also have our artists doing Catrina & Catrines face painting.
