Compare. Contrast. Combine.
This Saturday morning in Forest Park, Illinois, we will see the beauty of our quirky community with two concurrent events.
With Halloween approaching, it is time for the Casket Races, the ultimate Forest Park event. Caskets on wheels, racing each other for the glory of being the fastest, creepiest, or slowest team. Huge, weird fun. Followed by trick-or-treating on Madison Street.
Small-town goodness.
Meanwhile on Roosevelt Road near the currently vacant Illinois National Guard facility, Forest Park will stand up with its own “No Kings” rally. This is the local version of what is expected to be several thousand peaceful protests across America. Each will allow neighbors to raise their voices in opposition to the Trump administration’s assault on American values.
Another version of small-town goodness.
