The Minute Men and their firing range

Thirty-five sportsmen and sportswomen of Forest Park were present on Thursday, April 11, 1946 when the Forest Park Minute Men officially opened their new firing range in the Lincoln Bros. Store at 7503 Madison (present day Events By Cibula).

The range belonged to Forest Park Minute Men, was used every Friday night by the Forest Shooters, and on each Thursday by the Forest Pistol team. The Minute Men allowed the Oak Park Sportsmen’s Club to fire every Wednesday evening.

At a meet between the Oak Park and Austin rifle teams, the Austin team commented that the new range was one of the finest 50-foot indoor ranges in this section when it opened.
