Kevin O’Donoghue, instructor Mark Hodges, Keith Brogdon, and Jim Clark prepare to play basketball on the courts behind the Forest Park Community Center in 1976.

In 1976 the newly surfaced area behind the Forest Park Community Center was open for tennis and basketball. Mark Hodges, tennis and basketball instructor, oversaw both sports throughout the week. Tennis lessons were available during the daytime for beginners and advanced for $5. The basketball court was free and open on different days for boys/men and girls/women. Teen boys were able to play Wednesday nights. The two courts were open for general use most days of the week.
