A young boy was injured Saturday night in a fall from a second floor deck on the the 7400 block of Warren Ave. in Forest Park. The boy, who is eight or nine years old, apparently broke through a railing of a second floor deck shortly before 8 p.m.

A broken railing appeared to be jutting out from the rooftop deck as paramedics worked to assist the boy in the rear yard before taking him to the ambulance. Forest Park paramedics were observed taking the boy, who was conscious and crying, to an ambulance around 8:05 p.m. The ambulance left about five minutes later.

A friend of the victim stated that the victim had “fallen from the balcony and landed on the concrete.” It’s unclear whether the boy hit a concrete pad behind the home, or landed on a wooden deck immediately below the balcony.

The Forest Park Review will update this story as details become available.
